It's your first time

Welcome

We realize that it can be difficult visiting a church for the first time. Everything is new; the people, the place, the culture, all of it is uncharted territory.

What to Expect

Your first time

Right now, we are social distancing so all our services and groups are online.  But we look forward to being in the same place again soon.

To help you as you take these first steps we have provided the following insights that will hopefully make your experience a good one.  When you arrive for the first time you can expect...

  • to be warmly welcomed!

  • to be in a place where you can relax, be yourself and worship God.

  • to see people enjoying being together, laughing and talking; sharing and caring for one another.

  • to hear messages from the Bible that mean something to your life today.

  • to be invited to join us after worship for coffee and refreshments where you can make new friends

what to expect

Before worship

dress code

We are more concerned with the fact that you have come to church than what you wear to church. Most people will dress in casual attire, so dress how you feel comfortable and you'll fit right in.

arriving on campus

From the moment you pull into the parking lot, we want you to feel at home. You can feel free to park in any of the spots in the lot. The main entrance is through the main door in the center of the building.

Our welcome team is present each morning to help you find anything you need, including a place for your kids, no matter what age they are. When you enter the lobby you will find people gathered together waiting for the service to begin. If you're inclined, say hello to the folks around you and make your way to Guest Central in the lobby.  Or, if you prefer, remain anonymous, quietly check out the information at Guest Central and take a seat in the sanctuary when you are ready.

nursery

The nursery (ages 0-4) is located down the hall on your right as you enter the lobby of the building and is staffed by adults. Your child's safety is very important to us, on your first visit you will be asked to sign your child in letting us know of any allergies or special needs he/she may have. Before you leave, you will be given a beeper to hold onto while you are in service. Should your child need you for any reason, the nursery staff will use the beeper to contact you.

kids program

Our program is called Dig In and is for children pre-kindergarten to 8th grade. Students attend worship with their parents and then are dismissed from the service to their class. Parents then pick up their children after service.

what to expect

during worship

worship experience

This time is set aside for communicating with God from our hearts. We have a blended style of worship where the guitar and drums play together. Traditional hymns and contemporary songs are sung as part of our worship experience. Everyone is welcome to celebrate their love for God in their own unique way – for some, that may mean singing & clapping, and for others it means quietly reflecting on the words. You’re welcome to do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

Each week there is a time to worship God through the giving of tithes and offerings. As a guest, please do not feel any pressure to give. This is an act of worship for our regular attenders, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work he is doing in their lives.  It also gives Wayne Presbyterian the means to reach more people for Christ in the future.

the message (sermon or talk) At every service, you will hear a relevant, straightforward message that is based on Scripture and is designed to be helpful in your everyday life. We trust that these messages will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a strong biblical foundation for your life.

communion

Once a month, generally on the first Sunday of the month, we celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper together. Anyone who is sincerely seeking to follow Jesus can participate in this time of reflection and prayer The bread (gluten-free) and juice that we share represent the life He gave up so that our sins could be forgiven. By participating in this meal, we are nurtured in our faith and strengthened in our life together.
